Warhammer 40,000 Squad Command is a strategy based war game in which you are in head command. You can be in control with up to six units working your squads through missions aimed at defeating enemies that are threatening the cities and people of the Emperor. As your units embark on their mission, you will be in control. You can move one soldier at a time or move them in groups. Each member is equipped with default weapons and unlimited ammo, secondary weapons can also be obtained but these only have only limited ammo. availability. Each action unit is given a set number of action points which are used by moving, firing, or by attacking. Once the units APs are used the unit cannot do anything else until the next turn, so use them wisely. You also have a tactical map which enables you to see your squad or enemy within a certain given radius. Keeping your squad spread out will increase your visibility of the area. Commanding your squads can prove to be a difficult mission, especially when you’re trying to command them all at the same time that is unless you’re a Squad Command Pro. Units that operate independently prove to be less difficult to manage. Playing this game and being successful will require using different tactics and learning the ropes as you go, again unless your Squad Command perfectionist.
Warhammer Squad Command can be played as a single-player campaign or multi-player. Multiplayer has 3 options, Global and Local which support 2 to 8 players. Opinions on Squad Command are highly mixed. Learning to manage and maneuver in this game is definitely a learning experience for most. The gaming environment is all almost completely destructible which makes fighting and staying alive a more skillful event of play. Managing your action points and maneuvering your squads and remaining successful are all in your hands and most likely require multiple mission attempts for most.
