DualShock 3 Reviewed
Posted by boiboi, 109 days ago Aug 28, 2008

When Sony launched the PlayStation 3 without the rumble controller,  it caused some concerns for gamers who were anticipating the system.  The control which gamers was expecting it to come with rumbles did’nt appeared but Sony gave gamers the Sixaxis instead which only had motion sensing and felt lighter and more delicate.  Most gamers who brought the system was ok with the new control but for others it just felt cheap playing a game without the feel of the rumble like the DualShock 2 for the PlayStation 2 but the most annoying part of it is that the other systems had rumble which made PlayStation 3 owners feel a little behind and jealous...

But now that’s all changing, Sony announced the DualShock 3 atlast and now PlayStation 3 owners can rejoice and have the feel of rumble back in their hands again! And yes I got mine imported from Japan...well two ceramic whites to be precise.

Well the DualShock 3 feels much heavier as expected of course!  It feels so much more quality and not leaving the motion sensing out, which makes the DualShock 3 a whole lot better.  The R2 and L2 trigger buttons still the same as the Sixaxis which I don’t really like  as it feels it can snap if press to often and it seems uncomfortable to press, apart from that everything seems about right.

The vibration on the controller feels so much more realistic for example when playing a game like Siren New Translation demo (which can be downloaded thru the Japanese marketplace) when your heart beats the controller vibrates just right, not too heavy not too low or when playing Resistance: Fall of Man you can feel the vibs when your shot at or when your shooting at the enemies, it just brings the atmosphere of the game in your hands which is essential as rumble became so used too for console owners.

There is a list of games the DualShock 3 supports from launch titles to newer titles and even the PSN titles supports the DualShock 3.  The DualShock 3 comes in 3 colours, black, ceramic white and silver in Japan and US only has the black released and for Europe no set dates is announced yet but expect it to be soon, hopefully before Metal gear Solid 4.

Overall
It has everything you need for gaming plus a little extra but nothing is perfect.
