The Red Faction: Guerrilla demo for the Xbox 360 was very fun to play. This game is an open world third person action/shooter game. In the demo, you begin on Mars, seeking and trying to take back a Walker, (a machine that walks on two legs and has arms, like a robot) that the enemy has secured. Red Faction: Guerrilla will have 34 unique vehicles and 24 different weapons. Red Faction: Guerrilla will also have 16-player multiplayer. You begin with a sledgehammer in your hands with the availability to switch to an assault rifle, or remote charges.

 

The sledgehammer killed everybody I hit in one shot, but you had to get really close to hit anyone and by then, you may already be dead. The sledgehammer seemed to be more of a destruction tool rather than a weapon. Almost everything in the game is destructible. Some destructible items include vehicles, buildings, solar panels, and a lot more. Red Faction: Guerrilla is a fun game even if you want to just go around smashing buildings with a sledgehammer.

 

The assault rifle seemed to be sort of a base weapon. Of course, since there were only three different weapons to choose from, and only one gun on the demo, I can’t be sure of that. But it was good at close to mid range, and seemed to kill enemies fairly easily.

 

The remote charges were just charges that you threw and could detonate them at the time of your choice by pressing the B button. These are also really fun to play with, just to throw around and detonate buildings, and so on.

 

One bad thing about destroying everything that belongs to your side, is that your teammates will start to kill you. This is sort of a bummer for all of those people who want to just destroy stuff. Don’t worry though, because you can destroy enemy items without worry, they will be after you anyway. Of course if you killed all the enemies, you could destroy whatever you wanted.

 

The graphics for this game are simple breathtaking. The first thing I said when it started up was, “wow”. The characters look realistic, the terrain, the vehicles, the buildings, everything looks phenomenal. Really great job by the design team.

 

So, after you go behind enemy lines and get in the walker, you will be able to swing the arms around to kill any enemies or vehicles that get in your way. Once you get the Walker back to the truck, you will step the walker on to the truck to transport it. The battle isn’t over yet however, for then you will get behind the truck-mounted gun that shoots explosions at the vehicles following behind you. You will cross a bridge and your team blows the bridge, so no more enemies can follow. That is the one and only mission available for the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo.

 

My opinion from playing the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo, was that this game is going to be really great and definitely worth the money to buy this game. The demo was extremely fun to play. I love this game and it is definitely a game that I would buy. If anyone likes third person, open world, action/shooter games, this is definitely a great game for you.
