Battlefield 1943 is a example of what the future of Downloadable game's will be like for console games. The game looks really good for a downloadable game and supports 24 players online but it’s an online game only so you must be a Gold Member if you have an Xbox 360 and it’s about a 565mb. Battlefield 1943 is a remake of PC Battlefield 1942 but this time Battlefield 1943 is using the Frostbite game engine the same engine use in Battlefield Bad Company so yes you do have practically total destruction on all environments but nothing has change in the game play so it looks and feels the same so no upgrades.
There are three maps when you first get the game and a fourth map when you reach 43,000,000 kills as a console. Wake Island, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal are the maps you get to play first and then you get to play Coral Sea once you unlocked it. In some maps you get to start off a Navy Carrier each team gets two planes when you start off and a couple of landing crafts (which I don’t think you can open the door on it). You get to play as USMC (United States Marine Corps) and the IJN (Imperial Japanese Navy)
![]() The vehicles are Tanks, Planes (which on one person can be on the plane but during WWII there could be more than one person on the plane) landing crafts, jeeps, and bombers where you get to control three bombers and do an Air Raid. There are three classes to choose from infantry, rifleman, and scout. Players have infinite ammo so once they are out they have to wait for more ammo. And the best part of this game is that you can’t kill your teammates. The planes controls can be hard at first but the game has a tutorial at the help menu where you can also find a match or create a private match and invite friends. If you play bad company there no need to play the tutorial because the controls are the same but if you want to learn how to be a good pilot then it will be smart to practice by yourself in tutorial.
Like any Battlefield game the only game mode in this game is Conquest which is still fun. And yes there is ranks and post card and stamps and of course the achievements which are kind of easy for $15 let’s hope for DLC and tougher achievements. But for $15 or 1200 MS points this game is worth it and looks amazing the first time you play it. Yes this is a WWII game but then again it’s a Battlefield game and there even a demo out so it’s worth to at least download the demo if you like first person shooters and if you never play a Battlefield game then you are in for a treat. And if you have a friend to play (I don’t because I don’t have any friend) you and you friend go out and just do crazy stuff and its fun. For $15 this is a game you must play this summer it’s still the Battlefield you love but with WWII weapons and vehicles the servers where down but should be back up by the time you are reading this. In conclusion at least try the demo and I see you at the Battlefield.
