When I first got my hands on this game it was awesome. The game is basically all multiplayer, that’s kind of what disappointed me, there is no single player except bot matches and some training levels. The multiplayer still is what makes this game so great.
The basic story of this game is that an ancient magic has been uncovered and an evil corporation called the RNA is trying to take it and use it for their own profit. The “good guys,” called the Lineage are trying to protect the magic from the RNA. So in the multiplayer you are fighting over a magical artifact.
This game also has the option of not only buying guns with money you earn from killing people but magic powers and technology, too. Such magic as Teleport where you can teleport through walls and floors, and such tech as the Smart Link that gives your gun more accuracy and power. Smart Link also prevents friendly fire. This all greatly changes how you pick your weapons. Both tech and magic takes essence from you and each race has a different amount of essence. Tech permanently takes essence that makes it inaccessible to your magic spells, where spells take up a set amount of essence every time you cast it.
Now each faction has four different races to choose from at the beginning of a game: Troll, Elf, Human, and Dwarf. If you choose trolls, you can easily carry around heavy weapons such as the mini gun and rockets. The elves are the very fast ones and good with extracting the artifact. Humans are very rounded and get a tech special that makes it so tech doesn’t take any of your essence spaces; they also get an extra $500 at the beginning of the game. Dwarves have the most essence to use, which is good for resurrecting your buddies; they also have an effect that sucks essence from nearby enemies.
In the end I would give this game a four star review because although the multiplayer is great, it lacks single player missions, which would have been nice. This game is still awesome and you should defiantly look into at least renting this game, if not buying.
