Keys were available throughout the game play and can be used to unlock chests and missions for some changes in adventure but no extra little boosts that seem to add that little extra excitement from time to time or to help get you out of a mess when needed. Since this is a game of battle thankfully they didn’t forget to add the ability of restoring health by providing chips that can be collected during play your health can be restored when needed. During play the puzzles and adventures are actually pretty simple but some thinking is required of course. By choosing certain characters the game play goal or puzzle can be obtained much easier (i.e., bigger, smaller characters, certain elements with characters etc.) puzzles /adventures can also be completed by smashing, pulling, or using objects along with team-up characters to help complete a mission. The game is also set up like many others in that certain tasks have to be completed to progress forward. The game isn’t really hard to play but if you haven’t seen the movie or read the book (like myself) then finding your way around can be a little hectic even though it’s actually made for children. By the way if you are a child playing and don’t know the ropes then again you might also be a little lost because the instruction I felt weren’t very clear (as an adult) from time to time.
Chronicles of Narnia is actually a one player game since it can’t be played online but you can actually also has a co-player who can drop in and out of play by just hooking up another controller. This option I felt to be more of a hindrance than a help and I didn’t like the part of also having to share the screen because if co-op is being played then the screen was split in half and this was too small of a viewing area for my liking and seemed to create at the same time a distraction.
The game had both good and bad aspects in graphics and audio and certainly wasn’t comparable by looks or sounds as to most movies. I felt that both areas could have had alot added to make the game play more interesting since we all know that great graphics and audio can create that WOW! factor that we all desire in play and this was truly a disappointment. The fun factor for me may have come for the simple fact that the game itself was just totally different from my usual library of games, you know battle without all the blood and gore which I also love. There are also those games that we all have to play (the really Big seller games) and the games that we just want to play along with the games you want to win and of course the ones you have to win. You guys know what I’m trying to say in that a game can still be really good but just not up there with the Big Dogs.
